For the ones that think this VS slogan is “The Perfect Body” – stop. The right slogan is The Perfect “Body”, referring to the VS Body bra ranges. If you’re going to criticise something, please (!), at least take the time to read it properly first. Some are even slamming the campaign without understanding it. I’m looking at you, Perez Hilton.
Some customers are saying that VS doesn’t care about the average woman. A post on Facebook reads “Have you thoughts of caring for the perfect XL size women?” Actually, Victoria’s Secret lingerie comes from XS to XL and from A to DD cup size. If that doesn’t say “variety” I don’t know what will.
The reality is, healthy body image is not something you’re going to learn from fashion magazines. Do whatever makes you happy and comfortable in your own skin. If that’s working out 2 times a day – fine. If it’s laying on the sofa instead – fine again. There’s a long way to go until the fashion and media industries fully embrace all body types which is why we should embrace ourselves first. Positivity and confidence come from within and no brand should be able to make you question how you feel about yourself.
